White Horse Half Marathon
Rob Tuttle
A well run, well organised friendly run!

Fantastic
I think an addition of a medal, even a seed option would be great. It's a perfect event for beginners and medals hold a bit more meaning to people. I picked this feedback up while running the course and chatting to new runners.
I would also really enjoy being able to use bone conducting headphones, for us slower runners, it can be a long time to go without that distraction.

Loved it!
I absolutely loved the mug! It was a great route. My only negative is that it’s a 2:30hr cut off. A 3 hour cut off would make it more inclusive
Fraser Howard
Well organised event, lovely atmosphere and great marshals.
Tamas Javorfi
A well-organised local event with strong field from different run clubs and recreational runners, as well.
Paul Buckett
Great local, club run event. Brilliant marshals and volunteers on the course. Well done.
Neil Smith
Flat fast course
Very flat race. I'd suggest having portaloos at the start area.

Lovely quiet route round flat countryside, great PB potential
Thanks to White Horse Harriers for a great low-key race. I really enjoyed the route, passing through pretty villages on the flat country roads with very little traffic to bother us. There were lots of friendly smiley marshals. I was a bit worried beforehand about the logistics of the different locations for parking/HQ/start/finish but all was well signposted on the day, there was plenty of parking, and the distance from HQ to start was perfect for a gentle warm up jog. The mug is a nice momento, way more useful than another medal! Delicious cake selection back at race HQ afterwards. This year I did the race as part of my training for London marathon, the timing was ideal for that. I hope to come back next year to target a PB!!

The run was good, organisation around it a bit confusing
Too many different parts- start/finish/parking area/RFC club area /Race HQ- was confusing for a first-timer, and a long (cold!) walk back from finish to car
Jane Rymell
Excellent and very well organised.
Tim Bardell
Great course, well organised
Pancake flat course although a bit exposed in places. Great organisation, atmosphere and friendly competition
Cyprian Nzama
Superb route
Please extend the cut-off time to 3 hours. The current cut-off time is for seasoned athletes, some people would like to do a half marathon for fitness and less for speed.
Andrew Collins
Great marathon - quite flat with long stretches of countryside.
Used to be a simpler event being able to park near the start - now HQ, start and finish all at different venues - can it not all be at the new school and have check in as well as run to and from there?
Isabelle Garrett
Good for a PB
Leanne Smith
A lovely

Great course, lovely marshals, love the mug.
It was well organised, with lots of marshals cheering on. A big thank you to them, particularly as it was very cold. However, there was a lot of walking between venues (start, finish, race HQ)- any chance of making changes to this? Really enjoyed getting a mug at the end, a bit different to other races and useful. Also generous with spot prizes- although may be worth making it more obvious. My husband missed that he received one as a) the paper was hidden under the water bottle and b) without glasses he couldn’t read it and then assumed it was just a bit of random paper. Didn’t feel like doing the long walk to HQ again by the time we realised so didn’t cash in. Not beginner friendly due to cut off time, but it was made very clear when signing up. See you next year

A back to basics old school club run. Well signed and marshalled. If you want cheering crowds and corporate nonsense then look elsewhere. If you want to find the local running community then here it is.
It would be nice if a bag drop near the finish could be arranged. Quite a chilly schlep back to the car park!
Nadine Hunter
A great event, very well organised. I did find you had to be on the ball to cope with logistics around parking, start and finish locations.
If there was one thing to change, it would be to have the finish closer to the HQ/bag drop - it was a long, cold walk back!
Steve Cowls
Great race, the portaloos in the car park helped this year, one of my favourite half's, fast and flat, good for PB's
Enjoyable run.
This was my first White Horse half marathon and I really enjoyed the experience.
I'd not really done any training, so I was happy to get around the course without any mishaps!
The final two miles were hard for me and I was so happy to see the sign 'Welcome to Grove'!
A lovely scenic run through country village lanes, traffic was minimal and everyone seemed to be respectful of each other.
The marshalls were encouraging throughout and much appreciated.
I was happy to see regular water stops and I'd noted that medics were on hand if needed.
Tea and cake afterwards was also a nice touch.
Downsides for me were the long walks between the pharmacy car park, race HQ and the start.
The cold walk back to my car after running 13 miles was a bit of a struggle.
Overall, an enjoyable run and I would hope to be back again next year if knees and ankles allow.
Thanks to everyone involved.
