A good local first half marathon
The queue for toilets was so long I missed the start of the race.
The course was very flat and the roads were quiet.
As a slower runner I felt chased by the time limit. There were some stretches of road where I was the only person there so headphones would have been nice for me to keep my pace up.
All of the marshalls were lovely and very supportive.
I did doubt at some places that I was going the right way because of the lack of arrows and marshalls as well as other runners.
Distance from carpark to HQ and finish to HQ
At the finish getting on the path which has high kerb and running on the grass is not great finish, if it was cut it would help

Lovely road race
Very well organised and not too big a field of runners. Lots of friendly marshals and people and a useful mug rather than a medal or a t-shirt at the end of it! Definitely recommend it.

Medal rather than mug please! :)
My partner ran this as his first half marathon and found the organisation good but his comments were he would have loved a medal rather than a mug and would have liked to wear headphones. Great marshalling very friendly and encouraging.

Undulating countryside half marathon
Great organisation and friendly frequent marshal stops, walk to the start is a bit long. Please make bone conduction headphones allowed next year, they were only allowed for medical exemptions which was appreciated but I saw so many runners wearing them anyway which felt unfair to others who wanted to wear theirs. Lots of lovely community cakes and sandwiches at the end great local feel. :)

great flat race - perfect for fast pbs and those new to the half distance.
please mow the grass on the last sprint finish - I was afraid of twisting an ankle!

The best road half Marathon I know
There's also an equally good trail one not far away. Don't change a thing about the WHH, unless by some miracle there's a way to bring start, finish and parking closer together - but what's a warm-up for? Thanks for another great morning - I've squeezed my 13th mug onto the shelf, and obviously I need to do no 14 as soon as possible.

Excellent event, well organised and managed. Pre & Post event communication was excellent
Great scenic and flat route
Loved the route through the countryside and it was well-marshalled. The distance between race HQ, car park and start and finish lines was a bit inconvenient and confusing. The school facilities at the HQ were excellent but because of the distance between start and finish lines many runners didn't make it!

Disappointing
You need to enforce the no headphones rule, I counted eight people wearing them yesterday and when I spoke to a marshal the response was “I didn’t notice.”

Lovely route & good atmosphere
Have raced this for last 3 years & enjoyed every time. Good atmosphere especially for first mile or so.
However, 15 mins from HQ to start, and 15 mins from finish to HQ is tough!!
Also annoying that there was a ban on no headphones (inc. bone-conducting) but runners along the course going past marshals & not being told to remove.
Maybe a porta-loo block could be arranged if start is going to continue at the Rugby club - queue for ladies was still 30+ people with 5 mins before race start.

A good run to start to the season
It must be difficult to organise so well done.
Some small points to help: The car park and start distances and the finish and HQ distances are too far in my opinion and if this can be dealt with it would make it ideal. It seems a little unsafe for some to walk back so far when fatigued.
A number of people wearing headphones on open roads seems unsafe and unfair on organisers.
Well done all

Great event!
Bins for water cups after the stations could do with being further away, so people don't have to choke down a small amount very quickly. Otherwise well spaced out and excellent hand offs!

Good race, race HQ a bit out the way.
Great local race. I think, as people have mentioned, the race HQ a bit of a drag post race. Especially if cold. But I guess logistics are dictated by venue possibilities. Great marshals and enough water stations for me.

Great event in a peaceful location!!
Great race in a quiet location, the distance between race HQ, car park and start line was a bit inconvenient, but overall great event. Thank you!
Julian Sayers
An excellent event
Many thanks to all the marshals who where brilliant
Patrick Allen
Lovely run through the Oxfordshire countryside.
Would prefer paper cups V plastic cups at the aid stations. Much harder to drink out of plastic cups while running as you can't pinch them to create a funnel.

Pleasant low-key event
This is a pleasant low-key community event without a lot of the fuss and crowds from bigger races. The course is flat and well marshalled and people come out from the villages to cheer you on. Once past the first mile the pack starts to thin out and you can focus on setting your own pace.

A great event organised by people who know about running and how to make an event great for the participants. I have competed multiple times and look forward to competing again.

A great local run with PB potential
A well organised local event, with a great sense of community. Lovely to see so many club and non-club runners at the event. A good number of water stations and lots of friendly marshals giving support throughout.
